AcrossCan Advertising Guidelines
We want to ensure advertisers receive the best value and most traffic for their money that they can get. We also need to ensure that
our visitors receive an unparalleled Canadian search experience. We've developed a few ground rules for advertising on AcrossCan to make sure
that everyone receives the most benefit.
All advertising is hand reviewed before being displayed. All ads should comply with the following guidelines:
- Proper spelling (Canadian, not American spelling) and grammar must be used in the ads.
- Ads must be on a relevant search term. You can't advertise ring tones when someone searches for 'Stompin Tom Connors', unless it's a Stompin Tom ringtone.
- Make your ads as specific as possible to your product or service. This helps keep your costs down and the user experience high by minimizing irrelevant traffic to your site.
- Don't use excessive capitalization.
- Your ad should not contain trademarked terms unless you are the trademark owner.
- You may only show one ad on any one search term.
- You may not redirect the landing page.
- The landing page domain and the display URL in the ad must match.
- Please don't use superlatives like 'the best', 'lowest' and similiar.
- No direct call to action phrases like 'click here'. Instead, use phrases like 'shop online here'.
- No popups on landing page.
- All products offered must be of interest to Canadians. If you are offering a tangible product, it must be shipped to the end user from a Canadian location.
- The minimum current bid amount for all ads is 0.15. All bid amounts are in Canadian funds.
- Please write good, clean, quality ads only. We hand approve all ads and will approve only those ads that will enhance our visitors' search experience.
